XiFi is a wireless technology, product and solutions company that enables fast, secure, and highly efficient and scalable low-cost installations, to aid in large scale deployments of Wi-Fi hotspots in urban and rural areas across the globe. As Chief Architects and pioneers of Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (WANI), XiFi worked closely with Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and Department of Telecom (DoT) during the years between 2016 to 2020 and conducted many successful pilot trials and was instrumental in demonstrating a working Public Wi-Fi based on the WANI architecture. Approved by the Cabinet of Government of India on December 9th, 2020 and made into law on January 6th, 2021, Prime Minister’s WiFi Access Network Interface (PMWANI) is a Dept. of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, Govt. of India’s policy framework for Public WiFi.
